Created in 2015, Protected Silence is inspired by a quote from Tennessee Williams that compares using silence to shut out your problems to shutting a door on a burning house in hopes you'll forget that it's burning. Solos for each of the dancers are the thread of the piece showcasing the individual's struggle to become more celebratory about the things they keep silent/hidden in their lives, set against backdrops of vignettes of unity to portray support and strength.
