surrounded

surrounded was created in 2013 and performed in Paris, France, and Antwerp, Belgium in 2014 as part of a special traveling ensemble of The University of the Arts.  It is a solo about wandering, seeking the self, breaking down walls of security, and grappling with change. surrounded is an immersive experience, inviting the audience to stand around in the space/on the stage with the performer becoming a mimic of consciousness and awareness. Challenging both the audience and the performer to look each other in the eyes: feel the pain, pleasure, and exhaustion of change on a personal and human level.
